Thank you message from the Kirk Banks Tournament Director:
To: All 2010 AYSO Kirk
Banks Tournament Participants
From: Kent Goya, Tournament Director
Aloha Soccer Fans,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for
your support and participation in this year’s AYSO Kirk Banks Tournament.
A big MAHALO goes out to all coaches for the hours upon hours of preparing your
players -- both on the field and off it -- while giving them the tools to
succeed through good sportsmanship, positive coaching and the AYSO philosophies.
To all parents, thank you for the support and encouragement you give to your
daughters and sons, through your love and financial sacrifices. I hope you
continue to embrace the AYSO philosophies while teaching your child that it’s
not just about winning and losing, but about each player doing their best,
boosting their confidence and playing as a team.
To all players, I hope you were able to take advantage of this opportunity to
play your best soccer, to play both with and against friends and to make new
ones as well. As you return to your homes, your schools and your families, I
hope your participation in AYSO soccer and the Kirk Banks Tournament remains a
fun experience and that you look forward to coming back next year.
While the biggest concern and challenge to this and every year’s tournament
remains the availability of qualified referees, I would especially like to thank
all of the regions, teams and the individual referees for stepping up and for
helping us provide each game with the management skills and the energy to ensure
the safety and welfare of each of our players.
Months of planning and preparation by dedicated AYSO volunteers goes into
providing all participants with as positive an experience as possible. Please
join me in thanking the entire tournament staff for their dedication to and for
the sacrifices they continue to make for the benefit of all players, coaches,
referees and supporters. Without their unselfish and boundless energy, an event
of this magnitude could surely not take place. As an all volunteer
organization, the success of each AYSO game, season and tournament depends
heavily on the cooperation of all regions, teams and individuals.
Congratulations to all Championship, Medal and Cup flight participants, and
especially to all Sportsmanship medalists! I truly hope this year’s tournament
was a positive experience for each of you, and we look forward to seeing you
back next year.
Mahalo,
Kent |
